You typed chatpt. You meant ChatGPT.

This is the workbench for the next four seconds: shape the prompt, then send it somewhere that can actually answer. Plus the field guide nobody writes down.

Google already corrects chatpt to chatgpt. We are not going to pretend otherwise — here is what chatpt actually means.

Most bad answers are bad briefs.

You would not send a freelancer the message “make this better” and expect gold. The workbench adds the parts of the brief you left in your head: who it is for, what shape the answer should take, and what it must not do.

  1. Type it the way you would say it. Rough is fine. That is the input.
  2. Refine. You get a structured prompt in the same panel, fully editable.
  3. Copy or open. Paste it into ChatGPT, or whatever assistant you actually use.

Writing

The Sentence You Actually Mean

Here is a paragraph from [document type] for [audience]: [paste]. For each sentence, tell me what claim it is making in plain words a 12-year-old would accept. Then rewrite the paragraph so every sentence makes exactly that claim — no softer, no broader. If a sentence turns out to be making no claim at all, tell me which one and why.

a draft reads fine but sounds like it was written by a committee

Study

Build Me a Test From My Notes

Here are my notes: [paste]. Build a 10-question test: 4 recall, 4 application, 2 that combine two topics. Don't show answers yet. After I answer, mark each one, and for each wrong answer tell me which part of my notes was insufficient — not just the correct answer.

you've read the material and need to know if it went in

Work

The Email That Won't Get Misread

Rewrite this email: [paste]. The reader is [role], they are busy, and they are likely to misread it as [likely misreading]. Keep it under 120 words. Put the ask in the first line. Then tell me which sentence is most likely to be quoted back at me out of context.

Is chatpt the same as ChatGPT?

No. chatpt is a misspelling of ChatGPT with the letter g dropped. There is no separate ChatPT product from OpenAI.

Is this site affiliated with OpenAI?

No. chatpt.chat is an independent prompt workbench and field guide. It does not provide accounts, access, or official support.

Does the workbench send my prompt anywhere?

No. The refine step runs in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, stored, or logged by this site.

What does the workbench actually do?

It turns a rough request into a structured brief — role, task, context, format, constraints — that you can edit, copy, and paste into a chat app.
