What you type in the workbench
Nothing leaves your browser. The refine step is a small script that rearranges your text locally. There is no server endpoint that receives prompts, no database, and no account system. If you reload the page, the draft is gone unless your browser restores form state.
What the workbench stores
Nothing. The textarea, the refine step, and the copy button run as JavaScript in the page. There is no fetch call that sends the draft anywhere, no localStorage entry for the prompt, and no server endpoint that receives it. Closing the tab discards it.
Analytics
We use a self-hosted Umami script to count page views and see which pages are useful. It is cookieless by design and does not receive the contents of the workbench. It may record the page URL, the referring page, a coarse location derived from the request, and basic device information.
There are no advertising scripts, no cross-site trackers, and no social embeds. We do not build a profile of you across sites, because we do not have the pieces to do it.
Fonts and third parties
Fonts are served from this domain, so visiting a page does not send a request to Google. There are no advertising scripts and no social embeds.
The chat demo on /chat/ runs on a third-party inference provider and loads in an iframe. Anything you type into that panel is sent to that provider, not to chatpt.chat. Its privacy policy and terms apply. The panel states the limits before you load it.
If you would rather not use a third party, use the workbench and copy the prompt into a service you already trust. The workbench never sends your draft anywhere.
Your choices
- Use the workbench without ever opening the embedded chat.
- Block the analytics script at the browser or network level; the site still works.
- Ask us to delete an email thread after we have answered.
- Request a copy of what we hold about you — in practice, that is the email you sent.
Data controller
The chatpt.chat editorial desk is the controller for the small amount of data described here. Contact: hello@chatpt.chat.
Links to other sites
Guides link to OpenAI’s official pages and, occasionally, to other tools. Once you follow a link, the destination’s policy applies. We do not control it and we do not receive your data from it.
If you email us, we keep the message so we can reply and, where relevant, correct the site. We do not add addresses to a list and we do not sell them.
Children
The site is written for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the change is listed in the changelog.
